A family in Arusha, Tanzania, is in mourning after the tragic death of 30-year-old Verah Elly Kaaya, allegedly killed by her husband, Marco Palanjo, following a domestic dispute centered around suspicions of infidelity.
According to family members, Marco reportedly confessed to the murder to his family, revealing where his wife’s body could be found. The situation unfolded in the early hours of the morning when Verah’s relative, Verah Kitomali, received a call at 1 am from Marco’s brother, informing her of the devastating news.
“He left her body on two stools and wrote a note beside her remains,” Kitomali shared. “He told the family about the incident and went to his mother’s house, where he confessed his actions.”
Following the shocking revelation, the family sent a nearby individual to verify the situation, and upon confirmation of Verah’s death, they alerted the authorities. Police arrived at the scene to find the body of the deceased alongside two letters written by Marco, which were reportedly on both sides of paper. The contents of the letters have not yet been disclosed, but authorities confirmed they would be released to the family after proper procedures are completed.
Marco’s brother stated that he had been aware of Marco’s suspicions about his wife’s faithfulness. He shared that Marco had confided in him about his doubts, explaining that he had witnessed Verah with another man despite her denying the allegations.
“He said she was unfaithful, and in his four-page letter, he detailed what he believed to be the evidence. He had confronted her about the matter, but she continued to deny it,” Marco’s brother explained. “Marco then followed her one day when she claimed she was going to church, only to find her with another man. This, according to him, triggered his uncontrollable anger, and things escalated.”
The suspected motive for the murder appears to stem from a combination of marital strain and a deep sense of betrayal Marco felt regarding his wife’s alleged infidelity.
After the incident, Marco reportedly ingested poison and is currently receiving medical treatment under police supervision. Law enforcement officials have confirmed that they are monitoring his condition and preparing for legal proceedings against him once he is fit to face charges.
The tragic incident has left the family and the local community in shock as they grieve the loss of a loved one. As investigations continue, the authorities are focusing on gathering more details surrounding the dispute that led to Verah’s death, with family members hoping for justice to be served in this heartbreaking case.
