Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor Evans Kapkea joined the family, friends, and residents of Kamokono Village in Tembelio Ward for the funeral of Moses Kiplagat Kipyego, who was tragically murdered in Ngara, Nairobi. The late Kipyego, a dedicated officer who served his country with honor and commitment, was brutally attacked and killed under shocking circumstances.
Speaking at the burial, Deputy Governor Kapkea expressed deep sorrow over the loss, condemning the heinous act and demanding swift investigations to bring those responsible to justice. “We strongly condemn this brutal act of violence. It is a sad and unfortunate day for our community and the entire nation,” Kapkea said. “We must ensure that those responsible for this senseless killing are held accountable, and we demand swift action from the relevant authorities to bring justice to the family.”
Kapkea extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, offering support during this painful time. “Moses served this country with dedication, and his tragic passing has left a void in the lives of those who knew and loved him,” he said. “May God grant his family the strength and comfort to endure this difficult period.”
The Deputy Governor also urged residents to remain united as a community and to stand together in the face of such senseless violence. "We must work together to ensure that such tragedies are prevented in the future and that justice is served," Kapkea emphasized.
