In a gesture of goodwill, Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii donated foodstuffs to local mosques in the county. The donation ceremony took place at Hudaa Centre, Eldoret, and was attended by various officials, including Ismael Arow, Director, Mohammed Abdi, Director of Assets, and Kassim Swaleh, Eldoret City Communications Officer, all representing the Office of the Governor.
The food items, which were intended to support the local Muslim community, were distributed to Imams of various mosques within Uasin Gishu County. Governor Bii, in his remarks, emphasized the importance of unity and community support, particularly during times of need.
The donation was received by Abubakar Bini, the Chairman of the Council of Imams and Preachers of Kenya (CIPK), North Rift, who thanked the Governor and his team for their generosity and commitment to supporting the welfare of all residents in the county, regardless of their faith.
“This donation is a great testament to the inclusive leadership that Governor Jonathan Bii has brought to Uasin Gishu. We appreciate this gesture, which will go a long way in assisting our community,” Bini said.
The event underscores the Governor’s commitment to supporting the diverse needs of Uasin Gishu’s residents, fostering unity among the different communities that call the county home.
