Umoja 1 primary school children on Friday enjoyed "Dishi Na County" meals with the addition of Chapati and Bananas on top of their everyday meals, courtesy of President William Ruto and Nairobi Governor Sakaja Johnson.
The freshly made flatbreads were served with hot, nutritious cooked beans and rice, alongside bananas for a balanced diet meal.
The county-led school feeding programme sanctions the need to invest in the future of the young generation by addressing pupils' well-being in school.
Umoja 1 primary joins the list of public schools in Nairobi that have tasted Dishi Na County's provided Chapati.
On Thursday, President Ruto, Governor Sakaja Johnson, among other leaders, served Chapati to Toi and Ayany Primary school pupils.
Currently, over 316,000 school children across 230 public schools benefit from the program at a nominal fee of Ksh5 only per plate.
