Women's Empowerment Session in Turbo: A Step Towards Gender Equality



 In a move to promote women’s empowerment and leadership, Uasin Gishu KUPPET Chairman, Bro. Sosthen Arap Bellat, joined prominent leaders at a key session held in Turbo, Uasin Gishu County. The event, which focused on women's empowerment, leadership, and social well-being, witnessed a strong presence of notable political figures including Hon. Gladys Boss, Hon. Janeth Sitienei, and the Presidential Advisor on Women Matters, Local & National Leadership, among others.

The session was aimed at empowering women, especially in rural areas, by equipping them with the necessary tools and knowledge to pursue leadership roles both at the local and national levels. Through interactive discussions, the speakers highlighted the importance of women’s participation in governance and the need for supportive policies to ensure equal opportunities in all spheres of life.

A Call to Action for Gender Equality
Hon. Gladys Boss, a renowned advocate for women's rights, emphasized the importance of gender equity in leadership. She urged the attendees to push for more inclusive spaces in politics and business, stressing that women have proven time and again that they are equally capable of leading in all fields.

On the other hand, Hon. Janeth Sitienei, the Presidential Advisor, reiterated the government's commitment to addressing the unique challenges faced by women, especially in terms of access to resources, education, and political representation. Sitienei encouraged women in the region to take on leadership positions and participate actively in community development.
