Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi joined mourners in Chemundu/Kapng’etuny Ward to honour the life and legacy of Hon. Julius Ketter, the late MCA and Majority Whip of the Nandi County Assembly, describing him as a leader who led from the heart and never lost touch with the people he served.
Alongside Nandi Governor Stephen Sang, Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii, Woman Rep Cynthia Muge, Chesumei MP Paul Biego, and county assembly leadership, Sudi stood in solidarity with the grieving community during a touching funds-drive and condolence visit.
“It’s not just the County Assembly of Nandi that has lost a leader,” Sudi said softly. “It’s an entire community that has lost a brother, a friend, a man who believed in people and walked with them through every step of development.”
Reflecting on Ketter’s commitment to his ward, Sudi spoke of a man who never shied away from getting his hands dirty, whether it was to push for roads, improve schools, or simply sit with constituents to listen to their needs.
“Hon. Ketter wasn’t just a politician. He was the kind of leader who would leave his office to attend a community fundraiser, or check in on a sick resident. He understood that leadership is about people,” he added.
The mood was heavy with grief, but also filled with gratitude for the impact Ketter made in his short but impactful life. Residents remembered him as a unifier, a tireless advocate, and a man who brought real change to Chemundu/Kapng’etuny.
Sudi offered his heartfelt condolences to the family and close friends of the late MCA, urging them to draw strength from the immense love and respect Ketter earned.
“I know the pain of losing someone who meant everything to a community,” he said. “But I also know that when a leader gives his all, as Julius did, his spirit never really leaves us. His work, his kindness, his dreams—they live on.”
“May his soul rest in eternal peace and may light forever shine on the path he helped pave,” Sudi concluded.
As the sun set over the hills of Nandi, so too ended the day with tearful goodbyes and the memory of a leader who truly walked among his people—steadfast, humble, and full of heart.
