The Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration, Hon. Kipchumba Murkomen, has lauded the ongoing efforts by security agencies under Operation Amani Boni (OAB), reaffirming the government’s commitment to restoring lasting peace, stability, and development in the region.
Speaking after a high-level security visit to the Boni area, CS Murkomen met with the OAB multiagency team led by Commander Brigadier William Kamoiro, who briefed him on the steady progress of the operation. The OAB initiative is a critical national security strategy aimed at protecting Kenya’s sovereignty from external militant threats and fostering internal peace in the historically marginalized Boni enclave.
“I am deeply impressed by the commendable progress being made by our multiagency security forces under Operation Amani Boni,” said CS Murkomen. “Their dedication and sacrifice continue to guarantee the safety of our people and the protection of our territorial integrity.”
The Interior CS emphasized the government’s unwavering support for the operation, noting that the efforts go beyond security to include sustainable infrastructure development, the establishment of educational institutions, and implementation of socio-economic programs intended to uplift communities and address long-standing marginalization.
“We are not only here to restore peace; we are here to transform lives,” Murkomen stated. “Through security, development, and inclusive governance, we will ensure that no part of our country is left behind.”
CS Murkomen was accompanied by the Deputy Inspector General of Police (Administration Police Service), Mr. Gilbert Masengeli, Coast Regional Commissioner Rhoda Onyancha, and other senior government officials from the security sector.
The visit underscores the government’s integrated approach to national security, development, and community engagement—anchored on shared prosperity and the enduring vision of a peaceful and united Kenya.
