DIG Lagat Shares Easter Spirit with Police Trainees and Community at Magadi

In a heartfelt gesture of solidarity and service, Deputy Inspector-General of the Kenya Police Service (DIG-KPS), Mr. Eliud Lagat, joined congregants at Goshen Church within the Magadi Field Training Camp to celebrate Easter Sunday, offering a message of hope, gratitude, and unity.

Under the warm sun and the watchful eyes of both officers and residents, DIG Lagat took time off his demanding schedule to be part of a modest but deeply meaningful celebration with officers in training and members of the local community.

“I’m truly humbled by the warm reception here,” DIG Lagat said during the Easter service. “This season reminds us of sacrifice and service—values that our police officers embody every day, especially those who are serving far from their families.”

The Deputy IG acknowledged the immense dedication shown by officers across the country, particularly during festive seasons when many are away from their loved ones. He also extended his gratitude to the Magadi community, urging them to continue supporting and partnering with the police in maintaining peace and fostering a harmonious environment.

After the spiritual reflection, DIG Lagat met with staff from the Magadi Field Training Camp. There, he applauded the trainers for their unwavering commitment to shaping future officers and aligning the camp's mission with the vision of Inspector-General Japhet Koome—to transform police institutions into centres of operational excellence and citizen-focused service delivery.

“This transformation begins right here—in our training institutions,” he emphasized. “When we train with integrity, discipline, and heart, it reflects in the service we offer to the public.”

His visit concluded at Magadi Police Station, where he inspected the facility and expressed satisfaction with the station’s cleanliness and organization. He called it a “model for professionalism,” noting that such discipline and care for one's workplace speaks volumes about service quality.

DIG Lagat was accompanied by Assistant Inspector-General William Samoei, the Commanding Officer of the National Police Service College, Embakasi ‘B’ Campus. They were received by CI Hezron Olunya, Officer-in-Charge of Magadi Field Training Camp.

The visit, full of warmth and encouragement, brought a festive spirit to the officers and the community—reminding everyone that Easter is not just about celebration, but about service, sacrifice, and shared humanity.
