In the hustle of life, it’s easy to lose sight of how we began our journeys. The Apostle Paul’s words in Galatians 3:3 (AMPC) offer a profound reminder: “Are you so foolish and so senseless and so silly? Having begun [your new life spiritually] with the [Holy] Spirit, are you now reaching perfection [by dependence] on the flesh?”
It’s a powerful question that calls us to reflect on the way we start our ventures — whether in business, relationships, or personal growth. So often, we begin with faith, prayer, and guidance from the Holy Spirit, but somewhere along the way, we start relying more on human strategies, money, and connections. Paul’s warning is clear: abandoning the spiritual foundation that propelled us forward in the beginning can lead to destructive consequences.
A perfect example of someone who has exemplified this principle is Dr. Esther Muchemi of the Samchi Group. Her journey is a testament to the importance of beginning with a solid foundation in faith and never losing sight of it as success grows. Dr. Muchemi has built an empire not by depending solely on fleshly strategies or shortcuts but by remaining grounded in her faith and values. She has shown us that it’s possible to navigate the complex world of business and leadership without compromising the principles that guided the journey from the start.
Goodness me! How quickly we forget how we started. Dr. Muchemi’s story serves as a sharp rebuke to all of us. She began her journey in the Spirit — guided by prayer, faith, and divine wisdom — and as she grew her business, she never abandoned that higher path. Unlike so many who rely on human systems, money, and connections to fuel their success, Dr. Muchemi has stayed true to her spiritual foundation, trusting in the divine strength that initially guided her.
The spiritual level is higher than the physical. Only senselessness can make someone abandon the higher narrative and use a lesser one to continue a work that began with divine strength. Consider how many of us started our businesses, families, careers, or even political lives on our knees in prayer, seeking God, listening to His voice, and trusting that He would open doors. Yet, as we climb higher, we are tempted to depend solely on earthly tools, thinking they can carry us to completion. That mindset leads only to disappointment and destruction.
Dr. Muchemi’s success is not just in her accomplishments but in her ability to maintain loyalty and gratitude, even when prosperity comes. She reminds us of the value of the people who supported us during the tough times, whether they are business partners, family members, or colleagues. As success comes, it’s easy to forget those who stood by us in humility and hardship, but Dr. Muchemi has consistently shown loyalty to her roots and the people who helped her along the way.
What began in the Spirit must be sustained by the Spirit. What was built on prayer must be maintained in prayer. Dr. Muchemi’s life demonstrates that trading the higher for the lower is a deception that will never bring lasting results.
Spiritually and physically, this truth stands: never exchange the strength of your beginning for the weakness of shortcuts. Dr. Muchemi is living proof of the power of staying grounded, staying grateful, and never forgetting where you came from, no matter how far you go.
