Eldoret-based Human Rights Activist Kipkorir Ngetich Condemns Former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Actions, Calls for National and Regional Vigilance

In a strongly worded statement, Eldoret-based Human Rights Activist Kipkorir Ngetich has condemned the actions of former President Uhuru Kenyatta, calling them dangerous to both Kenya's stability and Africa's peace. Ngetich's remarks come after what he described as the former president's divisive political rhetoric and actions, which he believes are contributing to tribalism, incitement, and political chaos in the region.

In the statement, Ngetich warned that Kenyatta’s recent actions, including public speeches and political maneuvers, are fueling tribal tensions and attempting to undermine the government of President William Ruto. According to Ngetich, Kenyatta’s rhetoric is not only destabilizing Kenya but is also serving as a catalyst for unrest in other African nations. He further accused Kenyatta of planning a "politics of revenge" by inciting his community and youth groups to form an alternative government.

“This culture of political incitement, hatred, and tribalism spearheaded by former President Uhuru Kenyatta is reckless and dangerous,” Ngetich stated. “His words and actions are destabilizing Kenya and putting the entire region at risk. It is shameless for a former peace ambassador to now be inciting African and Kenyan youths to rebel against their government."

Ngetich emphasized that Kenyatta’s failure to acknowledge President Ruto’s legitimacy as the elected leader of Kenya is part of a larger scheme to fuel political divisions. He also criticized Kenyatta for using figures like former Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiangi and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua as pawns to advance his political agenda.

“The former president has done nothing but perpetuate hatred and division,” Ngetich continued. “Before urging the youth to form an alternative government, Kenyatta and Matiangi need to be held accountable for their roles in the corruption and crises that plagued his administration. They have yet to answer for the mysterious deaths at River Yala, the rampant corruption under his rule, and the violent protests they fueled.”

Ngetich also warned African nations to remain vigilant against Kenyatta’s influence, citing concerns over his potential involvement in instigating unrest across the continent. He urged the African Union to intervene and examine the role of former heads of state who might be plotting to incite civilian coups, contributing to the destabilization of African countries.

“Kenyatta's dangerous political maneuvers go beyond Kenya’s borders. His actions could easily spread turmoil to neighboring nations, and African leaders must take this threat seriously,” Ngetich said.

The activist also called for heightened security measures within Kenya, urging the Director of National Intelligence and the Inspector General of Police to monitor the political activities of Kenyatta and his associates. He warned that the illegal wealth accumulated during Kenyatta’s two terms in office could be used to sponsor violent uprisings and destabilize not just Kenya, but the entire region.

“We must be cautious. Kenyatta, along with Matiangi and others, may be orchestrating an organized plan to sow mayhem using the youth as instruments of chaos,” Ngetich declared. “The international community must also take a stand to prevent any further escalation of conflict.”

As tensions continue to rise, Ngetich called on former heads of state and political leaders to prioritize peace and unity, noting that many retired leaders across Africa are living peacefully and advocating for stability. He further urged the international community to hold leaders like Kenyatta accountable for their actions, stressing the importance of preventing any future political violence.

“The people of Kenya, particularly in Mt. Kenya, must be made aware of the danger posed by Kenyatta and his associates. It is time for Kenya and Africa to prioritize peace over power struggles,” Ngetich concluded.

As the political situation in Kenya continues to unfold, Ngetich’s comments reflect the growing concerns over the stability of the country and the region, as well as the risks posed by divisive political figures who seem intent on undermining democratic processes for personal and political gain.
