Eldoret National Polytechnic played host to a pivotal training session on Thursday aimed at enhancing data management and digitization efforts within Kenya's Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions. The event concluded with a group photo session led by Mr. Patrick Koech, Registrar Academic, and Mrs. Emmy Korir, marking a successful milestone in the national rollout of the MIS TVET system.
The training brought together registrars, system administrators, and staff members from various colleges across the country. Also in attendance were representatives from the Ministry of Education, underlining the government's commitment to streamlining data operations and improving transparency within the education sector.
The MIS (Management Information System) TVET platform is a central tool designed to facilitate real-time data collection, processing, and reporting across all public TVET institutions. With this training, stakeholders were equipped with hands-on skills to efficiently upload and manage institutional data on the system.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Koech emphasized the importance of digital transformation in education, noting that "a unified system allows for more accurate planning, accountability, and resource allocation within TVET institutions." Mrs. Korir echoed these sentiments, adding that the capacity-building initiative would ensure institutions are well-prepared to meet national performance benchmarks.
The group photo, captured on the institution’s main grounds, symbolized the spirit of collaboration and shared vision among TVET stakeholders across Kenya.
As the Ministry of Education continues to prioritize digital integration, such initiatives highlight the progressive steps being taken to modernize Kenya’s educational infrastructure, ensuring it is aligned with the demands of a dynamic, skills-driven economy.
