Prominent environmentalist and climate advocate Kate Kirui has marked this year’s Easter with a heartfelt message urging Kenyans and the global community to embrace humanity, compassion, and a renewed commitment to protecting the planet.
In her Easter message released on Sunday, Kirui linked the spiritual significance of the resurrection of Christ with the need for moral renewal and action in today’s world.
“This Easter, may the resurrection of Christ awaken in us a renewed sense of humanity, hope, and spiritual strength,” she said. “Let us rise above hate and division, embracing brotherhood, showing compassion, and caring for one another and our planet.”
Kirui, known for her passionate advocacy around climate justice, emphasized that Easter is not only a time to celebrate life but also to reflect on our responsibility toward the environment and each other.
“As we celebrate life, may we also commit to climate justice, positivity, and peaceful coexistence,” she added. “The world needs our love now more than ever!”
She concluded her message with an uplifting call to action: “Happy Easter. Choose humanity, choose hope—Happiest Easter Ever!”
Kate Kirui continues to be a leading voice in Kenya’s environmental movement, often highlighting the intersection between spirituality, sustainability, and social justice. Her Easter message resonated widely, especially among young environmentalists and faith-based groups working towards a greener and more compassionate world.
