President William Ruto’s long-serving personal assistant, Farouk Kibet, has reaffirmed his commitment to empowering the youth through sports, speaking during the grand finale of the Boso Volleyball Cup held in Kapsabet Town, Nandi County.
The tournament, hosted by Nandi County Woman Representative Hon. Cynthia Muge, drew crowds from across the region and was attended by top leaders, including Governor Stephen Sang and other dignitaries.
Farouk Kibet, a prominent figure in Rift Valley politics, praised the role of sports in shaping the future of young people, stating that platforms like the Boso Volleyball Cup are key in keeping the youth engaged, inspired, and united.
“This tournament is more than just a game. It is about building character, discipline, and opportunity,” said Kibet. “Our youth are full of potential, and it is our duty as leaders to invest in that potential.”
He also took the opportunity to commend the organizers and participating teams, highlighting the importance of nurturing talent at the grassroots level.
“I congratulate every team that took part in this competition. Whether you won or not, you’ve shown what dedication and teamwork can achieve,” he said.
Kibet called on county governments and stakeholders to expand support for youth-driven initiatives and emphasized the need for increased investment in sports infrastructure and training programs.
The Boso Volleyball Cup, now in its debut edition, has quickly become a key event in Nandi County’s sports calendar, with plans already underway to expand its scope in future editions.
