National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has led leaders and Kenyans in mourning the sudden death of former Sikhendu Ward MCA, Hon. Eric Musumba, who passed away following a tragic road accident.
In a heartfelt condolence message, Wetang’ula expressed deep sorrow at the loss, describing Musumba as a “dedicated leader, a man of the people, and a committed servant.”
“It is with deep sorrow and profound sadness that I have received the news of the untimely demise of Hon. Eric Musumba,” Wetang’ula said. “He was a devoted servant who served the people of Sikhendu with diligence and integrity during his tenure from 2017 to 2022.”
The late Musumba, who served under the Ford Kenya party, was widely known for championing grassroots development and community empowerment across Sikhendu Ward and beyond. Speaker Wetang’ula praised Musumba’s legacy, noting that his impact would be remembered and cherished by many in Trans Nzoia County.
“On behalf of the Ford Kenya Party and on my own behalf, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the people of Trans Nzoia County,” the Speaker added. “May the Almighty grant you strength and comfort during this period of grief. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
Details of the accident and funeral arrangements are yet to be formally released as the family and county leadership come to terms with the loss.
The passing of Hon. Musumba is being felt not only in Sikhendu Ward but across the wider Trans Nzoia region, where he was known as a humble and approachable leader dedicated to public service.
