Uasin Gishu County continues to make significant strides in transforming its agricultural landscape through increased cultivation of high-value crops. Today, we marked another key milestone in our ambitious plan to distribute 1 million seedlings to our dedicated farmers.
A total of 166,000 seedlings were distributed across Tapsagoi and Tulwet/Chuiyat Wards, reinforcing our commitment to empowering farmers, enhancing food security, and building climate-resilient farming systems. This initiative forms part of our broader agricultural development agenda aimed at promoting crop diversification and increasing income opportunities for farming households.
We are grateful for the unwavering support of our farmers who have embraced this vision. Their commitment is the driving force behind our progress and a testament to the county’s potential as an agricultural powerhouse.
Joining me today for this important exercise was my friend and colleague, Turkana Governor Hon. Jeremiah Lomorukai. His presence underscores the spirit of inter-county collaboration in advancing agricultural transformation not only in Uasin Gishu but across the North Rift and beyond.
As we move forward, we remain steadfast in our mission to deliver the remaining seedlings and equip our farmers with the tools and knowledge needed to thrive in a dynamic agricultural environment.
Together, we are planting the seeds of prosperity—one seedling at a time.
