Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii today officially launched the Mogoon Water Project in Ng'enyilel Ward, marking a major milestone in the county’s ongoing efforts to improve access to clean and reliable water for all residents.
The project, which brings piped water directly to homes, is set to benefit hundreds of families, with women and children standing to gain the most by being freed from the time-consuming and strenuous treks to distant water sources.
Speaking during the launch, Governor Bii emphasized the life-changing impact of the initiative, calling it a clear demonstration of the county government’s commitment to strengthening communities and building resilience.
“The Mogoon Water Project is not just about infrastructure — it’s about dignity, health, and empowerment. Our women and children can now focus more on their well-being and education instead of spending hours fetching water,” said Governor Bii.
The project is part of a larger water access program, which has so far seen the successful completion of 30 water distribution initiatives across the sub-county. These developments aim to not only enhance public health but also support local agriculture and economic activities that rely heavily on water.
Governor Bii took time to engage with the residents during the event, listening to their experiences and reaffirming his administration’s dedication to delivering meaningful and people-driven development.

Residents expressed deep appreciation for the project, describing it as a dream come true and a turning point for the ward.
