Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has issued a strong warning to the public regarding rising cases of online impersonation and fraud. In an official statement from the Office of the Governor, Natembeya cautioned residents to be wary of individuals claiming to solicit money or donations on his behalf via Facebook or any other social media platforms.
“I want to make it very clear that I DO NOT solicit for funds or donations through Facebook or any other platform,” Governor Natembeya emphasized. “Anyone claiming to collect money in my name is an IMPOSTER and should be reported immediately to the authorities.”
The governor urged citizens to remain alert and report any suspicious activities to relevant law enforcement agencies. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to transparency and integrity in all public engagements.
“Let’s remain vigilant and protect one another from fraud,” he added.
This statement comes amid growing concerns over digital scams targeting unsuspecting citizens, particularly on social media. The county government is working closely with cybersecurity experts and law enforcement to track and apprehend individuals involved in such fraudulent schemes.
Residents are encouraged to follow only verified accounts and consult official county communication channels for accurate information.
