Starehe Member of Parliament, Hon. Amos Mwago, has once again demonstrated his commitment to grassroots development by initiating routine maintenance works on the access road leading to Muthurwa Market, one of Nairobi’s busiest trading centers.
The road, which serves thousands of traders and customers daily, had fallen into disrepair, affecting business operations and accessibility, especially during adverse weather. Recognizing the economic importance of the market, Hon. Mwago swiftly moved to ensure the road receives the much-needed facelift.
"Muthurwa Market is the heartbeat of informal trade in Nairobi. Ensuring smooth access for both traders and consumers is critical to sustaining livelihoods and driving local economic growth," said Hon. Mwago.
Under his leadership, the maintenance work is expected to be completed efficiently with minimal disruption to market activities. Traders and residents have lauded the initiative, terming it timely and impactful.
Hon. Mwago has prioritized infrastructure improvement as a key pillar of his development agenda, especially in areas that directly support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The Muthurwa access road project is part of a broader effort to enhance mobility and working conditions for traders within Starehe Constituency.
As the works continue, the MP has assured the public of continued oversight and accountability, noting that every project under his watch is geared toward long-term community benefit.
