Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife, Hon. Rebecca Miano, on Friday participated in a pivotal session of the Cabinet Committee on Finance, Infrastructure, Land and Production, reaffirming her commitment to collaborative governance and national economic transformation.
The special meeting, held in Karen, focused on synchronizing Cabinet business to accelerate government service delivery and implementation of strategic national priorities. At the heart of the discussions were key policy and legislative proposals geared toward economic recovery, strengthening capital markets, enhancing governance in parastatals, and reinforcing the rule of law.
CS Miano, who has continued to champion sustainable tourism and wildlife conservation as engines of economic growth, underscored the need for integrated policy approaches in tackling national challenges. Her participation in the high-level deliberations highlighted the significant intersection between tourism and Kenya’s broader economic agenda.
“Tourism is a cornerstone of our economy and a reflection of our national identity. Our recovery strategies must be rooted in inclusivity, sustainability, and innovation,” Hon. Miano emphasized during the meeting.
The session brought together a distinguished team of Cabinet Secretaries, including Hon. Alice Wahome (Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development), Hon. John Mbadi (National Treasury and Economic Planning), Hon. Davis Chirchir (Roads and Transport), Hon. James Opiyo Wandayi (Energy and Petroleum), Dr. Deborah Barasa (Environment, Climate Change and Forestry), and Attorney General Dorcas Oduor.
