Kapkesosio Secondary School in Chepalungu has received a major boost to its education efforts following the donation of a brand-new school bus, courtesy of His Excellency President William Samoei Ruto.
The bus, handed over to the school amid celebrations from students, staff, and the local community, is expected to significantly enhance student mobility, making school trips, academic competitions, and access to resources more convenient and safer.
Bomet Senator Wakili Hillary K. Sigei, CBS, joined the Kapkesosio community in marking the occasion, lauding the President’s generous gesture and describing it as a clear testament to the government’s commitment to strengthening education at the grassroots.
“This school bus is more than just a vehicle — it is a symbol of hope, progress, and equal opportunity,” said Senator Sigei. “It will ease the burden of transportation and open new doors for learning and development for our students.”
The donation comes at a time when rural schools across the country continue to face logistical challenges that hinder access to quality education. With the arrival of the bus, Kapkesosio Secondary School now joins a growing list of institutions benefitting from national government support aimed at leveling the playing field for learners in remote areas.
Community members praised the President’s support, calling it a transformative intervention that will leave a lasting impact on the lives of students and their families.
“We are deeply honored by this thoughtful gesture and by the President’s unwavering commitment to education,” a school representative said. “This support will improve academic performance, student morale, and community pride.”
