Kiambu County Woman Representative, Hon. Ann Wamuratha, has once again demonstrated her unwavering commitment to uplifting the community through the successful implementation of the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) programs in Juja Sub-county. These initiatives have significantly impacted local businesses and residents, fostering economic empowerment and self-reliance.
The NGAAF programs in Juja Sub-county focused on providing essential tools and resources to small-scale entrepreneurs, enabling them to enhance their businesses and improve their livelihoods. Among the items distributed were tents with chairs for community events, shaving machines for barbershops, welding machines for artisans, blow dryers and hair dryers for salons, blankets for the elderly, market trolleys, egg and sausage trolleys, chafing dishes, and umbrellas for vendors. These resources were tailored to meet the specific needs of various groups, including barbers, welders, salonists, and vendors, thereby promoting economic growth at the grassroots level.
The distribution event was graced by several prominent leaders who have been instrumental in supporting the empowerment initiatives. Their presence underscored the collaborative efforts between national and county leadership in driving development and empowerment programs. In attendance were Hon. Kimani Ichung’wah, the Majority Leader of the National Assembly; Hon. Alice Ng’ang’a, MP for Thika Town Constituency; Hon. Eng. John Kiragu, former MP for Limuru; Hon. Gabriel Kagombe, MP for Gatundu South; and Elijah Njoroge Kururia, MP for Gatundu North.
Hon. Wamuratha expressed her heartfelt gratitude to national leaders who have supported the NGAAF initiatives. She extended special thanks to Hon. Kithure Kindiki, the Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya, and President William Samoei Ruto, for their unwavering support in empowering communities through affirmative action programs.
The successful implementation of the NGAAF programs in Juja Sub-county is a testament to Hon. Wamuratha’s dedication to fostering sustainable development and economic empowerment in Kiambu County. By addressing the needs of local entrepreneurs and ensuring that no one is left behind, she continues to pave the way for a prosperous and self-reliant community.
