As the Easter holiday season kicks off, the Director General of the Kenya Wildlife Service Prof. Erustus Kanga, has called on Kenyans to take the opportunity to travel and explore the rich diversity of their country. In a passionate appeal Prof. Kanga encouraged citizens to embrace domestic tourism and become ambassadors for Kenya’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.
“This Easter, I urge all Kenyans to take time to visit the wonderful destinations our country has to offer,” said Prof. Kanga “From the breathtaking landscapes of the Rift Valley to the white sandy beaches of the Coast, from the cultural richness of Western Kenya to the wildlife in our national parks — there is something for everyone.”
Prof. Kanga emphasized that domestic travel is not only a chance for relaxation and discovery but also a vital contribution to the economy. With the tourism sector working hard to recover from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and other global macroeconomic shocks, increased local travel can provide a much-needed boost to small businesses, tour operators, and hospitality providers across the country.
Prof. Kanga has earned distinction credited to his skillful and meticulous yet very tactful leadership at the Kenya Wildlife Service. He is indeed th beacon of hope when we speak matters conservation of flora and fauna as well as the custodian of Kenya's rich and divers natural heritage
