Globalink Mentors Association (GMA), a volunteer-led mentorship organization made up of professionals from Kenya and the Diaspora, has launched a Virtual Education University Expo this week, running from April 14th to 17th, 2025. The online event, taking place from 4pm to 7pm each day, brings together representatives from 17 universities — both local and international — to engage with students and parents from across the country.

The Expo is part of GMA’s broader mission to guide high school and post-high school students in career planning, soft skills development, and life preparation. Since its inception, GMA has connected over 50 scholars from Kenya, Australia, the United States, Canada, Europe, and other parts of Africa, all volunteering their time and expertise to support youth.

“We interact with our students over the holidays through virtual mentorship sessions,” said Mr. Kipchumba Korir, Founder and Programs Director of Globalink Mentors Association. “This model has enabled us to reach thousands of students and their parents consistently over the last four years.”

The decision to host the Expo virtually reflects GMA’s commitment to inclusivity and innovation. “Our virtual approach ensures access for students and parents from all corners of Kenya without the burden of travel. Most of today’s young scholars are tech-savvy, so this platform works perfectly,” Korir added.

The sessions provide each participating institution the opportunity to highlight their unique offerings, academic requirements, course options, and scholarship opportunities. The Expo is designed to be a one-stop hub for students seeking clarity and direction about their academic futures.

Kenya’s Ambassador to Thailand, H.E. Lindsay Kiptiness, serves as the Patron of GMA, lending his support to an initiative that is quickly gaining recognition as a transformative force in youth development.

“We envision a future where every young person in Kenya — and even globally — has access to accurate information, mentorship, and the tools needed to make empowered decisions about their careers,” Korir emphasized.
