In a significant crackdown aimed at curbing criminal gangs, law enforcement agencies have conducted a coordinated operation in Kisauni sub-county, leading to the arrest of 51 individuals suspected of involvement with the notorious Panga Boys gang. The operation targeted several neighborhoods, including Corner Ya Kisauni, Jocham Hospital, Barisheba, Sunlight, Mwandoni, Junda, Cobra, and Kadongo Grounds.
The operation, which involved various security agencies, also led to the seizure of five tuk-tuks, which are believed to have been used in phone-snatching activities. The vehicles were confiscated as part of the ongoing effort to disrupt criminal operations and dismantle gang networks in the area.
All 51 suspects have been detained at the Mjambere Police Station, where they are currently being processed. Authorities confirmed that they will soon be presented in court to face charges related to their involvement in the gang's criminal activities.
This operation is part of an intensified effort by local authorities to address the growing concerns over criminal gangs in the region, with a particular focus on gang-related violence, robbery, and theft. Police are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity as part of their continued commitment to ensuring the safety and security of Kisauni and its residents.
