Nandi Governor Stephen Sang has led the county in mourning the death of Hon. Julius Kipruto Keter, the Member of County Assembly (MCA) for Chemundu/Kapng’etuny Ward and Majority Whip of the Nandi County Assembly.
In a heartfelt condolence message issued on Saturday, Governor Sang described Hon. Keter as a dependable leader, a friend, and a devoted public servant whose loss will be deeply felt across the county.
“It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that I have received the news of the untimely passing of Hon. Julius Kipruto, MCA for Chemundu/Kapng’etuny Ward and our Majority Whip,” the governor stated.
Governor Sang praised Hon. Keter for his humility, calm demeanor, and dedication to uplifting the lives of his constituents. He noted that the late MCA was a pillar in the County Assembly, known for his thoughtful leadership and strong advocacy for development across his ward and beyond.
“His unwavering commitment to uplifting the lives of his constituents, his humility, and his calm, thoughtful leadership will be deeply missed. He stood firm in advocating for development and was a strong voice in the County Assembly of Nandi,” he added.
Governor Sang extended his condolences to Hon. Keter’s family, colleagues in the assembly, friends, and the people of Chemundu/Kapng’etuny Ward. He acknowledged the painful impact the death has had on the county’s leadership and the broader community.
“On behalf of the County Government of Nandi, my family, and on my own behalf, I extend our deepest condolences... This is a painful loss for all of us,” he said.
Hon. Keter’s contributions to community development, especially in education, infrastructure, and youth programs, earned him admiration from both peers and residents. As Majority Whip, he played a key role in shaping legislation and fostering cohesion in the County Assembly.
Governor Sang concluded his message by praying for comfort for Keter’s loved ones and calling on the people of Nandi to honor his legacy through unity and continued service.
“May Hon. Julius Kipruto’s soul rest in perfect peace, and may his legacy of service continue to inspire us all.”
Funeral arrangements are expected to be communicated in the coming days, with the County Government promising full support in honoring the late leader.
