The nominee for Principal Secretary in the State Department for National Government Co-ordination, Hon. Ahmed Abdisalan Ibrahim, has assured the Departmental Committee on Administration and Internal Security of his commitment to enhancing efficiency and service delivery across government agencies.
During his vetting and approval hearings before the Committee, which took place on Friday, April 4, 2025, Hon. Ibrahim emphasized the importance of improving communication, coordination, and collaboration among government bodies. He pointed out that his extensive experience in the humanitarian sector would be pivotal in addressing operational bottlenecks and facilitating smoother service delivery.
Hon. Gabriel Tongoyo, Chairman of the Committee, asked the nominee to elaborate on his approach to the responsibilities of the State Department for National Government Co-ordination. In his response, Hon. Ibrahim outlined that the department's core mandate is to streamline processes within government agencies, thereby ensuring seamless provision of services to the public.
“The State Department will focus on eliminating inefficiencies, ensuring that government agencies work harmoniously and effectively to provide timely services that contribute to sustainable development,” stated Hon. Ibrahim.
The Committee’s Vice Chairperson, Hon. Col. (Rtd) Dido Rasso, also inquired about Hon. Ibrahim's community service efforts, given his previous tenure as a Member of Parliament for Wajir North. Hon. Ibrahim highlighted several initiatives, including the renovation of mosques, the construction of dams, covering school fees for orphans, and paying hospital bills for those in need.
He underscored that these efforts reflected his dedication to improving the welfare of his constituents and the broader community.
