Oscar Sudi Applauds President Ruto's Commitment to Economic Growth at Kagio, Kirinyaga County

Kapseret Member of Parliament, Oscar Sudi, has commended President William Ruto for his visionary leadership following the launch of two significant development projects in Kagio, Kirinyaga County. The President laid the foundation stone for the construction of the KSh310 million Kagio Market, a move that will transform the local economy, boost trade, and create thousands of job opportunities for the people of Kirinyaga.

"Today marks a milestone in our quest for economic empowerment and infrastructural development in our counties. The Kagio Market, which will be built at a cost of KSh310 million, is a testament to President Ruto's commitment to uplifting local economies through strategic investments. This market will not only facilitate trade but also provide a thriving business hub for farmers, traders, and entrepreneurs in the region," said Sudi.

The event also saw the launch of the KSh500 million Last Mile Connectivity initiative, which aims to connect 6,200 households to the national electricity grid. The project will improve access to reliable power, enabling households to engage in income-generating activities, while also improving education and healthcare services in rural areas.

"Access to electricity is a fundamental enabler of development. With the Last Mile Connectivity project, thousands of families in Kirinyaga will now be able to power their homes and businesses, enhancing their ability to generate income and improve their quality of life. This initiative aligns perfectly with the President's focus on ensuring no Kenyan is left behind in our national growth agenda," Sudi added.

The two projects highlight the government's ongoing efforts to prioritize infrastructure development as a critical driver of economic growth. Sudi, a strong supporter of the government's development agenda, reiterated the importance of supporting initiatives that empower Kenyans at the grassroots level.

"As a leader from the Rift Valley, I am proud to see the government’s commitment to creating opportunities for all Kenyans, regardless of where they live. President Ruto's administration continues to lay the foundation for sustainable development, and we in Kapseret are equally committed to contributing to this vision," Sudi concluded.

The KSh310 million Kagio Market project and the KSh500 million electricity connectivity initiative are expected to have a transformative impact on the people of Kirinyaga and surrounding areas, promoting sustainable growth and improving the livelihoods of residents. The projects are a clear indication of the government’s commitment to driving economic progress through local development initiatives.
