The meeting, held at the Uasin Gishu County Commissioner’s office, brought together key members of the local security leadership, including County Commissioner Dr. Edison Nyale, County Police Commander Benjamin Mwanthi, and County Criminal Investigations Officer (CCIO) Daniel Muleli.
Dr. Omollo emphasized the government’s commitment to strengthening grassroots security structures and enhancing inter-agency collaboration to address emerging threats such as organized crime, cybercrime, land disputes, and radicalization.
“Our objective is to ensure that every county has a well-coordinated and responsive security apparatus. Uasin Gishu plays a critical role in the stability of the North Rift region, and we are here to listen, evaluate, and support your ongoing efforts,” said Dr. Omollo.
He commended the county’s security team for their proactive approach in maintaining law and order and called for stronger partnerships with the media, community-based organizations, and religious leaders to foster lasting peace.
County Commissioner Dr. Nyale briefed the PS on current security operations, recent successes in crime prevention, and ongoing community engagement initiatives. He noted that continuous support from the Interior Ministry is vital in sustaining progress.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss upcoming national programs, including preparations for enhanced border security, ID registration reforms, and strategies for effective disaster response.
Dr. Omollo concluded by reaffirming the Interior Ministry’s support for the county’s security operations and pledged increased logistical and technical assistance to enhance their capacity.
