A historic day unfolded for the residents of Tuigoin (Centre Kwanza) and Murgor villages in Tapsagoi Ward, Turbo Sub County, as they gathered to witness the commencement of significant infrastructural projects aimed at improving mobility and enhancing local economic activities.
The event marked the beginning of site clearance and excavation for the construction of a new bridge over a river that has long posed a challenge for the communities. The project was initiated by the administration of Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii through the Department of Roads, Transport, and Public Works.
Ezekiel Serem, a resident of the area, expressed his gratitude for the long-awaited development. "We have waited for this project for many years. Thank you so much, we are grateful to the governor," he said, his voice filled with joy. Another local resident, Emmy Birech, shared her relief, especially during the rainy seasons when the river floods. "It has been a challenge for us to cross the river, and at times, we’ve had to risk our lives. We’ve waited for a bridge, and now we are so grateful," she added.
In addition to the bridge project, the day also saw an inspection of the ongoing grading and graveling of the Gynocare Hospital - Kapkoros road in Kapsaos ward. This project, like the bridge construction, is part of Governor Bii's broader infrastructural development agenda, which is a key focus of his manifesto under pillar number six, aiming to boost mobility and stimulate agricultural and other economic activities in the region.
The residents, with renewed hope and enthusiasm, look forward to the completion of these transformative projects that promise to improve their daily lives and contribute to the overall development of the area.
Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii’s administration has emphasized that these projects are not only about infrastructure but are also integral to the larger vision of fostering sustainable growth and improving the quality of life for the people of Turbo Sub County.
