The Hon. Simon Ng’ang’a King’ara, Member of Parliament for Ruiru Constituency, has reaffirmed his commitment to improving education in his constituency by prioritizing the expansion of infrastructure at Mwiki Primary School.
A passionate advocate for equal access to quality education, Hon. King’ara believes that education is one of the most powerful tools for bridging the socioeconomic divide in Kenya. "Mwiki Primary School has seen a significant increase in student numbers, putting a considerable strain on the existing infrastructure," said Hon. King’ara. "This is why I am dedicated to ensuring that we expand the school’s infrastructure to accommodate the growing number of students. Our children deserve a conducive learning environment to unlock their full potential."
The school, located in one of the fastest-growing areas of the constituency, is currently facing severe challenges in managing the large number of students. With overcrowded classrooms and limited resources, the existing facilities were no longer able to meet the demands of the increasing student population.
Hon. King’ara has been at the forefront of efforts to fast-track the construction of additional classrooms at Mwiki Primary School. The project aims to provide enough space for the growing number of learners and to enhance the quality of education they receive.
In an exclusive interview, the MP shared that he is working closely with local education officials, contractors, and community leaders to ensure the timely completion of the new classrooms. "I am burning the midnight oil to ensure that the construction moves at a fast pace so that our children can enjoy the benefits of modern, spacious classrooms sooner rather than later," King’ara stated.
