In a significant stride toward enhancing learning conditions and public health in schools, Ruiru Member of Parliament Simon King’ara has announced the successful completion of 12 newly constructed toilets at Kiratina Primary School.
The project, part of the MP’s broader infrastructure development agenda, represents a crucial step in addressing longstanding sanitation challenges faced by learners and staff. The modern facilities are expected to improve hygiene standards, reduce health risks, and foster a more conducive learning environment.
“The completion of these toilets is more than just a construction milestone—it’s an investment in the dignity, safety, and academic focus of our children,” Hon. King’ara remarked. “Good sanitation is the foundation of quality education, and we are committed to ensuring our learners have the right environment to thrive.”
Teachers and parents have welcomed the development, citing the new facilities as a timely and transformative intervention. The school, which serves hundreds of pupils, had previously struggled with inadequate sanitation infrastructure, affecting both attendance and academic performance.
This initiative aligns with the government’s broader push for improved public school infrastructure and reflects Hon. King’ara’s continued dedication to empowering the youth through practical, people-centered development projects.
With this milestone, the Ruiru MP reaffirmed his commitment to prioritizing education, health, and the overall well-being of the constituency’s future generations.
