Soy MP Assures Swift Action Following Incident at Chepkongi Primary School

Soy Member of Parliament Hon. David Kiplagat has assured residents of swift intervention following an incident that occurred at Chepkongi Primary School in Kuinet/Kapsuswa Ward yesterday, which left a classroom block in need of urgent repairs.

In response to the incident, Hon. Kiplagat today led a high-powered delegation comprising officials from his office, the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NGCDF), and the Department of Public Works to assess the extent of the damage.

“We visited the school to evaluate the level of destruction and determine the immediate works required to make the classrooms safe and habitable for our learners,” said the MP.

He affirmed that the renovation of the entire affected block will be prioritized and undertaken using NGCDF Emergency Funds, with works set to begin without delay.

“Our children’s safety and access to quality education remain a top priority. We will move with speed to restore the classrooms and ensure learning continues without disruption,” he emphasized.

Hon. Kiplagat also appealed to the school community and parents for patience and cooperation as the necessary repairs are carried out.

“We understand the inconvenience this may have caused, but we are committed to resolving the matter comprehensively and sustainably,” he added.

The MP reiterated his dedication to improving learning conditions across the constituency and thanked the school’s administration for their prompt response and collaboration during the assessment.
