Police officers from Mutitu Police Station have successfully arrested a 33-year-old suspect, Ernest Musyoka, who was found in possession of government stores. The arrest follows an ongoing investigation into Musyoka’s alleged involvement in a case of threatening to kill and assault, which had been under investigation by law enforcement.
Musyoka was apprehended in his residence at Itiko village, where he was found in possession of a variety of government-issued items, including clothing and uniforms commonly associated with security services.
Upon conducting a search of the suspect’s house, officers recovered several stolen items, including a senior Administration Police Service (APS) officer’s sweater, a former maroon APS sweater, and a green jungle sweater. The recovered items also included three jungle belts, two pairs of APS trousers, three black berets, three jungle t-shirts, and four pairs of green socks. Additionally, two NYS shirts and an NYS green sweater were also found in the suspect's possession.
The recovered items are believed to have been stolen from various security agencies, raising concerns about the theft and unauthorized possession of government uniforms. The police are continuing their investigation into how Musyoka acquired these government stores and whether any criminal activity is linked to the stolen items.
Musyoka is currently being held in custody at Mutitu Police Station as investigations continue. He is expected to undergo processing before being formally charged and arraigned in court.
The police have assured the public that they are taking all necessary steps to address this breach of security and are working to uncover any additional individuals involved in the theft of government property.
