They Laughed When She Tried to Start a Business, Now They Beg Her for Jobs

When I first announced I was starting my own business, the room went silent then erupted in laughter. My relatives chuckled behind fake smiles, neighbors whispered behind my back, and even my best friend told me to “be realistic.”

I didn’t have the capital, the connections, or the formal education they thought were necessary. But what I did have was a dream and the kind of stubborn heart that refuses to die quietly.

I had just quit a receptionist job at a beauty spa where I’d worked for five years. I loved the industry but hated being overlooked, overworked, and underpaid. I’d watched enough women walk in and out of that spa to know exactly what they needed and I believed I could do it better.

My plan was to start a small mobile beauty service offering home treatments like manicures, pedicures, facials, and massage. The reactions I got were discouraging. People kept asking, “Where’s your shop?” “Who will call you when there are already established salons?”

Someone even mocked me saying, “You’ll be walking around with your kit like a hawker?” It hurt more than I let on. At night, I cried. During the day, I forced a smile. But I didn’t give up. I knew deep inside that I had something special.

In the middle of this emotional storm, a friend who once struggled to conceive shared her testimony about how her situation turned around after consulting Kiwanga Doctors. I didn’t take her seriously at first. But one particularly low evening, I reached out.

I explained everything: my dream, the mockery, the fear, and the endless obstacles. They were kind, non-judgmental, and gave me what they called a business breakthrough charm and some powerful herbs for luck and favor.

Within two weeks, something shifted. One of my former clients called asking if I could come to her house for a massage. Then she referred her sister. Then her sister’s best friend. It was like word of mouth exploded overnight.

I went from doing two clients a week to being booked for days in advance. People were drawn to me. They trusted me. And I always showed up professionally, dressed neatly, carrying everything in a branded bag I’d saved up to buy.

With the consistent income, I launched an Instagram page. Within a month, I had 2,000 followers. I started sharing transformation photos and testimonials. I introduced discounted packages and loyalty cards.

I kept growing, kept learning, and soon, I was hiring two assistants to help with appointments. One of those assistants was my cousin the same one who laughed at me and said, “People like us can’t run businesses.”

Six months in, I rented a small space in town and set up a beauty studio. Clients loved it. They said it felt like a hidden gem. Influencers began to notice, and before long, I was hosting makeup tutorials, spa parties, and collaborating with wellness brands. Those who once mocked me started sending their CVs. Some even called in tears asking for internship opportunities for their daughters.

I’ve now employed five women full-time, all from the same neighborhood that once doubted me. Every payday, I feel proud knowing my business puts food on their tables. I donate free beauty sessions to single mothers and cancer survivors because I know what it means to feel invisible and helpless.

Kiwanga Doctors didn’t just give me a charm they gave me belief. The belief that unseen forces can push you where human hands can’t. That sometimes, you need more than effort you need spiritual favor. Their herbs and blessings opened doors no human could shut.

So to the girl out there with a big dream and no support, I see you. I was you. Don’t let their laughter scare you. Let it fuel you. If you ever feel stuck, hopeless, or constantly sabotaged, seek help beyond the surface. Kiwanga Doctors are real. What they gave me changed my life.
