Tophill Hospital, under the leadership of Joseph Bor, Head of Marketing, recently organized a comprehensive wellness check-up and health talk for officers at Webuye Police Station.
Over 60 officers participated in the initiative, receiving vital health checks to monitor their well-being.
The event was led by the Officer Commanding Station (OCS), CI Mathenge, alongside the Traffic Commander, CI Idris, who expressed their gratitude for the healthcare services provided to their team.
The wellness event aimed to address the health needs of police officers, ensuring they remain physically and mentally fit in their line of duty.
Tophill Hospital’s Clinical Officer, Ndiema, took the opportunity to provide a detailed health talk focusing on Mental Health, Stress Management, Substance Abuse, and Lifestyle Diseases. Ndiema emphasized the importance of maintaining a balanced lifestyle and managing stress, particularly in high-pressure environments such as law enforcement.
“It's essential to address both physical and mental health challenges,” said Ndiema. “This initiative provides officers with the tools they need to manage stress and improve their overall health, which directly impacts their work and personal lives.”
Tophill Hospital remains committed to echoing the government's campaign on primary healthcare, bringing critical health services to local communities. Through initiatives like this one, the hospital is working to bridge the healthcare gap and ensure that essential services are accessible to those who need them most.
“By reaching out to the grassroots level, we can create a healthier society, starting with those who protect us every day,” said Joseph Bor, Tophill Hospital’s Head of Marketing. “We are proud to support the health and well-being of the officers, and this is just one of the many ways we are contributing to the health of the community.” added Ndiema.
The health check-up and talk were well received by the officers, many of whom expressed their appreciation for the timely and informative initiative. This event is part of a broader effort by Tophill Hospital to provide accessible healthcare to various sectors, including law enforcement, and to promote wellness within the community.
