Two Arrested in Connection with Brutal Robbery and Gang Rape of Malaa Woman

Two suspects, Ben Waimari and Moses Odhiambo, also known as Pascal, have been arrested in connection with a harrowing robbery and gang rape incident that took place on March 11, 2025, in Malaa, Nairobi. The arrests followed an intensive investigation by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Dandora, supported by the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau.

According to authorities, the victim, a woman driving along the Ruai-Kangundo Road, was en route to her residence in Malaa when her car skidded off the road and got stuck in the mud. As she attempted to free the vehicle, she was approached by the suspects and their five accomplices, who offered assistance. However, their intentions quickly turned malicious as they forced her into the car’s boot and took control of the vehicle.

The gang drove the woman through the Mowlem area along Kangundo Road, ultimately stopping at a secluded spot near Nairobi River in the Kwa Mbao area of Dandora. There, the victim was violently assaulted by the suspects, who took turns raping her.

A passing motorist noticed the woman's distress and intervened, prompting the suspects to flee the scene and abandon the victim. The woman was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention, and the incident was reported at the Kwa Mbao Police Post.

Aside from the physical and emotional trauma, the victim’s vehicle, along with her personal belongings and money transferred from her bank accounts, were stolen. The suspects’ actions left the victim devastated, with her household items and financial resources taken.

Through a combination of forensic analysis and diligent detective work, law enforcement was able to trace the suspects back to the crime scene. The two arrested suspects led detectives to the Maringo area of Buruburu, where they recovered the stolen vehicle, albeit stripped of its wheels and severely vandalized. Other stolen items were also found.

The two suspects are currently in police custody, where they are being processed. Investigators continue to search for the five remaining accomplices involved in the attack.

This case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers faced by motorists and the swift action required to bring perpetrators of such heinous crimes to justice. The DCI has vowed to continue efforts to track down all individuals involved in this brutal crime.
