Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii has joined the global community in mourning the passing of Pope Francis, describing him as a spiritual giant whose voice and influence transcended religious boundaries.
In a heartfelt statement released on Monday, Governor Bii paid tribute to the late pontiff’s legacy of peace, justice, and compassion.
“The world has lost a spiritual giant,” Bii said. “I join millions around the globe in mourning the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis, a man whose voice echoed far beyond the walls of the Vatican, touching hearts with messages of hope, peace, and social justice.”
He extended his condolences on behalf of the people of Uasin Gishu County, offering solidarity with the Catholic Church and all those grieving the Pope’s death.
“On behalf of the great people of Uasin Gishu County, I convey our deepest sympathies to the Catholic Church, the Holy See, and all people of faith who found guidance and comfort in his leadership,” the governor said.
Pope Francis, the first Latin American pope, passed away at the age of 88 after battling prolonged health complications. His death has prompted tributes from leaders and faithful around the world.
