In a significant move to boost education and empower women in the region, West Pokot Governor Simon Kachapin today commissioned a new dormitory at Chemolo Secondary School in Chemolo, Tapach Ward.
The new facility is expected to ease accommodation challenges faced by students, especially those from distant areas, and contribute to improved academic performance.
Later in the day, the Governor presided over a fundraising event for the Chemolo Women Group. The funds raised will go toward supporting the group’s economic empowerment initiatives, further reinforcing the county’s focus on inclusive development.
“This is a clear demonstration of our commitment to inclusive development—uplifting both education standards and women’s livelihoods,” Governor Kachapin said during the event.
The occasion brought together local leaders, parents, students, and members of the wider community, marking a strong show of unity and support for progressive development in the region.
