Youth Must Reject Misleaders and Embrace Dialogue, Says Norbert Kipkemboi

Youth leader and former Kimumu Ward aspirant, Norbert Kipkemboi, has strongly condemned recent attempts to incite the youth against the government, terming such efforts as “dangerous, misleading, and equivalent to radicalization.”

Speaking during a youth empowerment forum in Eldoret, Kipkemboi emphasized the need for constructive engagement and urged young people across the country to resist political manipulation that could fuel instability.

"If someone wants to engage the youth, then let it be in boardrooms, in open forums, and through honest dialogue aimed at empowering young people economically — not in the streets with stones and propaganda," Kipkemboi said.

He accused a section of political actors of employing deceptive tactics to mislead the youth into confronting the government, rather than working together to find sustainable solutions to unemployment and economic hardship.

"The misleaders have mastered the art of turning frustration into fuel for chaos. But we must not allow them to use our anger as a weapon against the same systems we are trying to fix," he added.

Kipkemboi said political instability directly affects economic growth and deters both local and foreign investment, which are key to job creation for the youth.

He also called for patience and unity, urging fellow youth to give President William Ruto more time to implement the promises made under the Kenya Kwanza administration.

"As youth, we must acknowledge that change is a process. Let's give President Ruto a little more time and hold him accountable through peaceful and organized engagement, not destruction," Kipkemboi stated.

He encouraged youth-led initiatives that focus on innovation, agribusiness, and entrepreneurship as viable paths to economic freedom, calling on county and national governments to increase funding and mentorship for such programs.

Kipkemboi’s remarks come at a time of growing tension in some parts of the country, where rising cost of living and high unemployment have fueled discontent. However, the youth leader believes the answer lies in responsible leadership, dialogue, and mutual respect between the government and the younger generation.
