Buzeki Puts Politicians on Notice Over Reckless Rhetoric
Uasin Gishu gubernatorial aspirant Bundotich Zedekiah Kiprop alias Buzeki has warned politicians against incitement, and abusive language as the country enters an electioneering period.
Buzeki took issue with a section of leaders across the political divide whom he accused of inciting Uasin Gishu residents against him.
In the August 9 political contest, the Independent candidate is taking a second stab at the seat after failing in 2017.
“I want to condemn people who come to Uasin Gishu to incite us. The law you passed to allow Independent candidates to vie for various political seats should be less of your worry,” Buzeki explained.

“Why get angry at independent candidates when you are the same people who passed this law that allows us to vie as independents? You have been in parliament knowing that independent candidates are at liberty to contest in elections; now you want to incite the electorate because there is nothing you can do about it,” he observed.
He told off his political distractors, condemning them for engaging in verbal vitriol against him.
“I want to tell this kind of people to leave us alone so that we can sell our agenda to the people who will elect us. Some people claim that the government is funding me, which amounts to incitement,” he added.
Buzeki further said that his opponents were out to tarnish his name after realizing that he was on his way to winning the elections.
“They are already afraid that an independent candidate has won the seat. Therefore, I have told this person who came to utter these incitement remarks that we meet in court,” said Buzeki.
He also petitioned the outgoing administration to leave with everyone after the August 9 polls to pave the way for the new administration to implement its manifesto.
On this, he gave the example of former US president Donald Trump who, after being trounced by Joe Biden, left office with his entire staff, saying that is what democracy means.
“When a new person is elected, he brings in new leadership skills. Let us not leave roots behind as we exit the office. We should uproot these roots so that if I am not capable of serving the electorate, then I will carry my cross,” said Buzeki.
