Uasin Gishu Commissioner Warns Politicians Against Being Used By Politicians to Cause Violence
Uasin Gishu politicians have been warned against using youths to cause violence before, during, and after the August polls.
Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Stephen Kihara says those politicians who will be found will face the full force of the law.
“I want to call upon politicians vying for various political seats to refrain from using youths to cause violence instead youths should be used in constructive activities. Those politicians who will be found using youths to cause violence will be arrested and face the full force of the law,” said the Uasin Gishu County Commissioner.
He called on politicians to be peace ambassadors instead of dividing Kenyans based on their political or tribal affiliations.
Kihara advised politicians to be tolerant and accept all citizens to accept and allow all aspirants to campaign and sell their manifestos irrespective of their political parties.
“Political candidates should sell their manifestos and give a chance to the other candidates of the contrary party to also sell out their manifesto, the candidates should respect the position there are aspiring for,” Kihara said.
“We want to give our commitment as the security team of Uasin Gishu county that when we are going for election we will ensure that we treat every candidate fairly and politicians should not bring people who will disturb and cause violence,” he said.
He also promised all the candidates aspiring for various elective positions that with the help of the security team they will ensure that there is no violence even after election.
“I want to assure all the politicians who are seeking votes that we will continue helping you in conjunction with the security team that we have to ensure that even at last minute we have no even a single violence,” he said.
