Kakamega County to Establish a Maize Milling Plant in Lugari
The County Government of Kakamega will set up a maize milling plant at Lugari station in Lugari Sub-County.
This was disclosed by Deputy Governor Ayub Savula on Saturday at the funeral of Rtd. Eng. Renson Manyengo in Mufutu area, Lugari Sub-County, Kakamega County
The DG said in addition to the infrastructure upgrade kick-started by the County Government in the area, the factory will play a critical role in realization of the wealth creation and social development agenda of Governor Fernandes Barasa. The maize plant, he mentioned, will provide a ready market for maize farmers in the Northern region of Kakamega County.
The County Government’s initiative to upgrade Lumakanda-Manyonyi Road to bitumen standards, Savula added, will fastrack the already initiated process, by Governor Barasa’s administration, of elevating Lumakanda town to Municipality status.
