7 Million Kenyans removed From CRB- President Ruto
President William Ruto now says seven million Kenyans have been removed from the Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) blacklist.
President Ruto says during electioneering he promised to remove at least four million Kenyans who are listed in CRB due to none payments of loans.
“I am now glad that seven million Kenyans are out of the CRB blacklist since they had been denied from borrowing, they can now borrow money without any restrictions,” said President William Ruto.
During his campaign period, he had promised that he will make sure those who are blacklisted are removed from the blacklist to enable them to borrow money for development.
According to president Ruto blacklisting disadvantages a lot of people who have a low economic income since they are left at the mercy of shylocks.
Removing defaulters from CRB listing is the second time by government after mobile digital lenders were barred from blacklisting borrowers who default on loans of less than Sh1,000.
Statistics from the country CRB shows that borrowers who had defaulted on digital loans of less than Sh1,000 made up the bulk of 4.6 million borrowers blacklisted at the time
