Today marks Jalang’o’s final show on The Morning Kiss as he embarks on his political journey.

Jalang’o has been co-hosting with Kamene Goro for a while and the two went from being friends to forming a tight bond that brought forth a great chemistry between the two.

On his last ‘wake up call’ segment, the seasoned radio host gave an emotional farewell message to his listeners, his bosses, co-host and everyone that has made this journey a success for him.

Jalas thanked Radio Africa boss, Patrick Quarcoo for always believing in his dreams.” Today I mark the end of this amazing place. I want to say a few things to the boss and CEO of Radio Africa for always being a friend and opening doors for me even when things look really dark on my side,” he said.

He said he will never forget him for giving him his first shot in radio.

“You did it again and I know you can do it anytime for me. That is why you made me and accepted that contract to sound the way it was.”

He thanked Radio Africa’s MD Martin Khafafa for always offering a listening ear to him.

“Our HR who has supported this journey. I got to interact with the best HR.”

Jalas described his co-host Kamene as an inspiration for the last two years they’ve been a team.

“Big shout-out to you(Kamene) that when they thought this would not work. It became the biggest morning show. We rose to the occasion. We have had our own fights and our good times but the past two years have been growing and inspiring each other and making sure that we leave each other better than we found each other.”

Jalang’o is going for the Langata parliamentary seat and said it was his dream to try out a different kind of leadership and he feels his time to join politics is ripe.

It’s a dream that I am going after to try and be different. Show people that good people are still there.

Even if the rules allowed us to stay, the journey ahead is not easy. It is tough, tiresome, expensive and needs full focus. All our listener’s thanks. Thank you Kiss FM and God bless Radio Africa.

Touched by her colleague’s inspirational words, Kamene wished him well in his next journey.

Thank you Jalang’o and all the best!
