Baringo County professionals to Hold the First Ever Inaugural Gubernatorial Debate
Baringo County professionals will hold an inaugural gubernatorial debate for all candidates seeking election in the forthcoming general election.
According to the chairman Prof Chebutuk Rotich the event which will involve all gubernatorial aspirants will take place.
“Baringo County Professionals (Baringo Liberal Minds Forum) in partnership with various development partners, local leadership and stakeholders will on Tuesday 22nd March launch gubernatorial debates in Kenya School of Government (KSG),” he said.
Prof Rotich said the main agenda is to help residents appreciate the manifestos of the aspirants while seeking to understand how they plan to solve myriad challenges afflicting the citizens of the county when elected into the governor’s office in the forthcoming general elections.
“The debate is the first one, to be held during this election period, We invite all media houses to cover the event which will be held in KSG-Kabarnet on Friday 25th March from 1700 hours. The main objective of the debate is to improve the quality of elected leaders, governance, and public involvement on the agenda of the candidate seeking,” he added.
He noted that the questions will be asked by residents. who will elect them after the campaigns.
some of the challenges that the gubernatorial aspirants are expected to tackle include poverty level, literacy level, quality pre-primary coverage, access to electricity, access to clean water, coverage of road network, number of institutions of higher learning, gender involvement among other issues.
