125 Women Groups Benefits From Governor Mandago’s Incubators
Governor Jackson Mandago’s administration through the Department of Agriculture, Livestock Development and Fisheries distributed 125 incubators to various women groups drawn from various wards across the county.
This is in a move to empower them financially for them to earn a living and be independent.
Speaking during the flagging off ceremony at the County headquarters, ICT, Trade and Industrialization CECM Dr. Emily Kogos said the initiative will uplift members’ economic growth and ensure that they have something to do.
“Today we have distributed ove 125 incubators to various women groups from all the sub counties. The county has already distributed over 474,333 chicks through the Inua Mama na Kuku programme which began in 2014 and has seen over 40,000 groups benefit,” said the ICT, Trade and Industrialization CECM.
Livestock Development Chief Officer Mr. Barnabas Too together with his Agriculture counterpart Dr. Victoria Tarus urged the beneficiaries to seek advice from county agricultural officers at the ward level on how to use any drugs being administered to the chicken noting that microbial resistance caused by improper use of antibiotics are among the leading causes of death in chicks.
“In case there is any problem please you have any challenge kindly seek advice from expert,” she said.
