PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES TO RECEIVE ASSISTIVE DEVICES FOR FREE
People living with disabilities in our county need assistive devices and technologies to maintain and improve their individual functioning and independence to facilitate their participation and to enhance their overall well-being. These devices could help prevent impairments and secondary health conditions.
The County Government of Nandi in partnership with Chirst ambassadors is set to issue assisting devices which include wheelchairs, crutches, walkers and white canes to aid those with physical challenges.
The Chief Officer for Tourism, Culture and Social Welfare Ms Beatrice Chemurgor is calling upon people living with disabilities to visit the department offices on Tuesday and Wedneday 5th and 6th of April for identification, assessment and issuance of the assistive devices.
The primary purpose of assistive devices and technologies is to maintain or improve an individual’s functioning and independence to facilitate participation and enhance overall well-being. They can also help prevent impairments and secondary health conditions.
