Uasin Gishu Senator Marga Kamar to Defend Her Seat on an Independent Party Ticket
Uasin Gishu Senator Margaret Kamar has revealed the seat that she will be vying for in the forthcoming general election.
Speaking during a meet the people tour in Moiben Kamar said she will be defending her senatorial seat in the forthcoming election.
“I want to announce here without fear of contradiction that in the August polls I will be defending my seat using an independent party ticket,” said Kamar while speaking to the press.
Kamar who was elected on a Jubilee party is serving her first term as Uasin Gishu senator and it’s only time that will tell if she will be elected or not.
Uasin Gishu has perceived a URP party zone and it’s only time that will tell if she will be re-elected or not.
“I will remain neutral and I will not be aligned to any political party and I am calling on Uasin Gishu residents to elect me in the forthcoming elections,” she added.
She will be facing UDA candidates which include governor Jackson Mandago, radio journalist Arap Kemei and lawyer Kipchumba Karori.
Kamar recently endorsed the opposition leader Raila Odinga’s presidential bid term him as fit to be the next country’s president and has been termed as a rebel.
