Irene Buyanzi Drops Bid for West Nalondo MCA Seat in Favour of Erick Kimingich
Irene Buyanzi has dropped her bid for the West Nalondo ward bid in favour of Erick Kimingich.
“I irene Buyanzi declared an agrement to drop my political interest and support Erick kimingich wapan’gana as the DAP-K candidate,” Buyanzi said.
She said that her move wax under the conditions that her name should be forwarded to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) through the party in the position of nominated member of county assembly of bungoma.
“I have decided like that to be a good example for the people of Bungoma in large and West Nalondo Ward to be patient with the leader they choose not only giving the five years and look for another leader,” she said.
“Wakue wavumilivu wawe wakuvumilia viongozi wao kwa miaka kupita tano ili wapate maendeleo. (Let them be patient for the next five years so that they realise development), she said.

‘Nimewacha hiyo kiti ili nimpatie Eric wakati mzuri ya maendeleo ndio maana nasema Wapang’ana West Nalondo tano tena na pia governor wetu wa Bungoma wangamati tano tena. (All I am saying is that I have left that sit for Eric and also behind Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati second term,” she added.
On Saturday, April 16 Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga endorsed George Natembeya and Wycliffe Wangamati as Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition gubernatorial candidates for Trans Nzoia and Bungoma counties, respectively.
Raila, the Azimio presidential flagbearer in the August 9 General Election, announced at a public rally at Kiminini market after visiting Kwanza and Gidea towns in Trans Nzoia county on Saturday, April 16. “Ule ambaye anapeperusha bendera ya Azimio hapa Trans Nzoia ni Natembeya an kule Bungoma ni Wangamati. (The person who is flying the Azimio flag in Trans Nzoia is Natembeya while in Bungoma is Wangamati),” Raila said.
On Thursday, April 14, the Democratic Alliance Party of Kenya (DAP-K) issued direct nominations to Natembeya, Wangamati, Sam Ongeri (Kisii) and Kenneth Marende (Vihiga). Wangamati, elected on a Ford Kenya party ticket, is seeking re-election for a second term on the Eugene-led DAP-K, one of the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition parties.
Natembeya, 50, served as a state official for over 25 years.
