Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru Condemns Arrest of UDA Aspirants and Officials
Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has condemned the arrest of UDA aspirants and officials.
He accused the state of forcing them to support the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance.
Through her official Facebook page, she wrote “I strongly condemn last evening’s arbitrary arrests of UDA aspirants, officials & supporters perpetrated by State in a futile attempt to make them support Azimio. We demand the immediate release of Kirinyaga Majority Leader & incoming Senator James Kamau Murango- Senator Kirinyaga County 2022, UDA coordinator Gichangi Bosco & all UDA supporters still in custody on a political witch hunt,” she said.
Waiguru is a staunch supporter of the deputy president William Samoei Ruto’s presidential bid in the forthcoming general elections.
She is a big critique of president Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration and the opposition leader Raila Odinga’s administration.
She will be facing Wangui Ngirici who will be vying using an independent party ticket.
“No amount of intimidation or blackmail will change the fact that #KirinyagaNiUDA. Even Martha’s entry can’t & won’t make Azimio’s entry in Kirinyaga any easier,” Waiguru added.
